Tea-Infused Sugar Cubes
Michele LillieDo you love those pretty decorative sugar cubes? Whether you put them into your own tea or serve them to your guests, they are a classy addition to your tea table. You can purchase them, but they do fetch a price. Did you know that you could make your own at a fraction of that cost and have so much fun doing it?
The possibilities are limitless. Make them from different types of sugars, make them into whatever color you like, use molds to make them to match your party theme, infuse different flavors into them and even infuse tea into the sugar cubes. Wouldn’t your guests be impressed when you offer them Earl Grey infused sugar cubes to stir into their Earl Grey tea? Here is how to do it.

Ingredients
- ½ Tablespoon of the tea of your choice
- ½ cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
Optional
- Dried edible flowers
- Edible glitter
- Culinary flavoring to match your desired flavor profile.
- Food coloring
Directions
Step 1
Steep the tea in ½ cup of hot water for the appropriate amount of time. Strain, discard leaves and allow the tea to cool.
Step 2
In a bowl, add the dry ingredients along with 1½ tablespoons of the cooled tea. Add tea gradually, stirring and only adding enough liquid to get a wet sand texture.
Step 3
Spread sugar mixture into the silicone mild of your choice, gently pressing to ensure the cavities are completely filled. Wipe off excess sugar with a wet paper towel.
Step 4
Allow to set overnight at room temperature.
Step 5
When dry, remove from mold. Store in an airtight container.
