A gray bowl of farfalle pasta scattered with poppy seeds
  • 4¾ cups water
  • 3 tablespoons chamomile blossoms
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups uncooked farfalle (bow tie pasta)
  • 1-2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Directions

Step 1

Bring 4½ cups of the water to a boil. Remove from heat. Add 2 tablespoons of the chamomile and infuse for 5 minutes. Strain and discard the blossoms.

Step 2

Add salt to chamomile-infused water, bring to a boil and stir in the pasta. Return to a boil and cook until pasta is al dente.

Step 3

While the pasta cooks, bring the remaining ¼ cup of the water to a boil. Remove from heat and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of chamomile blossoms. Infuse for 5 minutes, strain and discard the blossoms.

Step 4

Drain pasta and return to the pot. Stir in butter, the infused chamomile tea and the poppy seeds. Cook briefly until pasta is tender. Serve.
