Good devices for brewing tea are essential for quality loose leaf tea. By getting consistency you will enjoy your tea infusion more and save money on the more expensive loose leaf tea by optimizing the amount of tea used. A well designed measuring spoon allows you to fit the long tea leaves into a more rectangular slot and it needs to be adjustable in half tea spoon increments. You can now buy the digital spoons, expensive, that will weigh the tea instead of using a volume measurement. This allows you to get very precise consistent amounts of tea that is usually am amount of 2 to 2.5 grams, for an 8 to 10 oz cup. Then you do not have to factor in an increased volume for the teas that have very long "fluffy" teas. Then you need an infuser that is easy to fill, allows the leaves to expand, removes easily, preferably with a drip tray and easy to clean. Our preference that we use in the Cafe is the one manufactured by Finum of Germany. Great results and very durable. Finally you need a simple method for timing the tea. Many people use the timer on a microwave which is fine but may not be close to where you brew the tea. If this is the case we suggest a timer that is easy to set and you will find that having it next to the infuser that you will not easily forget to set it. With this in mind we offer a specially price trio of infuser, timer and brewing spoon shown below Check out the article on brewing to help you make your perfect cup of tea for you: How to brew tea
