This is English Tealeaves # 1 selling tea and has been for over 14 years. We are proud that it is our own blend that Rob created for Lynne, in 2002, to replace Taylor's of Harrogate's English Breakfast that she thought was the best on the market.
When we started blending English Breakfast we had little experience that turned out to be a big advantage. The cost was not an issue as it was for our own consumption and we wanted the best. Blend # 157 was the end result of a long, sometimes frustrating experience. Trying to find the best teas and then change the percentages to get the special flavor and strength we desired. Being trained as an engineer, Rob was exact on the methodology and very tenacious. See the endorsement from the tea blogger at the bottom of the page.
The high caffeine content of our breakfast tea helps in the morning but this has a full black tea flavor and is not too bitter. Great replacement for coffee in the morning that incidentally Rob drank before starting English Tealeaves. Now he only drinks coffee in restaurants as normally the tea is so bad. Even though English Tealeaves Breakfast tea is strong in both flavor and pep, it is not bitter (which will leave you much happier in the morning than if you'd had some bitter cup of coffee).

What is an English Breakfast?

A true English Breakfast is a high calorie and fatty breakfast but has to be experienced to appreciate why it is so popular. Just don't have it every morning or you will be gaining weight!
There are many variations around the country but it will usually consist of bacon, eggs, fried bread, tomatoes, sausage and baked beans. Additions are mushrooms and black pudding, which is not for everyone (main ingredient is pigs blood).
With this greasy breakfast you need a drink to help cleanse your palate and English Tealeaves breakfast tea is a flavorful strong tea to give you a break between bites. With or without milk.

A good infuser makes it easy to prepare tea and this is our favorite:
Fine mesh large size infuser with a drip tray that can be used for a cover to keep the tea hot. This is the best infuser for large mug infusing as it sits well on the top of most mugs (12 to 18 oz) and also many 32 oz 48 cup size teapots. We have used them in the Tealeaves Cafe for over 12 years and the majority are still being used as they clean so well. The fine mesh it great for fine teas and herbals like Rooibos.

Our own blend of Assam, Nilgiri (Southern India) and Ceylon (Sri Lanka)
English Tealeaves sells over 125 high quality teas that are "cherry picked" from over 15 suppliers who specialize in specific types and countries. This gives us the flexibility to find the best of the best. We also blend around 8 teas ourselves that can't be obtained to our standards. For example our #1 selling tea, English Breakfast is our own blend that we created in 2002.
Our Cafe customers give feedback and we discontinue the ones that get poor ratings. We also look to improve our teas and will replace a standard tea, like say Mango, with a higher quality blend from another supplier.
The teas are selected after evaluation in these seven areas and then the scores are weighted to decide if they qualify for inclusion in our range:
